November 2018 Student Stories

Here are the students the AFCCA Foundation for Children was able to assist in November 2018!

Large Grant Requests

A family of a 6-year old boy with spina bifida needed to get AFO Orthotics in order to help him walk. These braces support weak muscles and keep the legs in proper position for standing and walking.

The health assistant from his school asked for $506.56 on the family’s behalf from Foundation for Children. The parents paid $1,500.56 out of pocket despite having insurance and needed assistance for the remaining amount of $2,007.12.

The Foundation for Children Board of Directors voted to cover the full amount for this young boy.

School: Garfield Elementary in Phoenix, AZ
