March 2015 AFCCA Foundation for Children Grant Requests Filled

Look who the AFCCA Foundation for Children helped in March 2015!

Phoenix, AZ

  • Augustus H. Shaw Elementary, Student Age 8; Requested vision services; Eyeglasses from Nationwide
  • Washington High School, Student age 16, Requested Eye Exam and Glasses – This student had been needing glasses for 3 years. She had her mother sign a release form and went over spring break to get her new glasses. She was so happy that she can finally see the board!
  • Washington High School, Student Age 15, Requested Catheters –  This young woman has been paralyzed from the waist down since her family’s vehicle was hit by a drunk driver at the age of 6. She needs catheters changed out daily, but because of the cost, her family has to wash and reuse catheters. The AFCCA Foundation for Children purchased a 1 year supply!

Tucson, AZ

  • Desert View High School, Requested Eye Exam and Glasses

Thank you to all of our dedicated board members, donators, volunteers and especially our volunteer school nurse for making grant requests like the ones above possible

Working together through fundraisers and creating awareness, we can continue helping children in our communities.
