March 2017 Student Grants Filled

Here are the students the AFCCA Foundation for Children was able to assist in March 2017!

Large Grant Requests

A 14-year old boy from Laveen lost his hearing aid during PE. The cost for replacements were $2000 and his parents were able to pay $200 and then submitted a request for $1800 from the AFCCA Foundation for Children Board. The board approved the full amount.

Small Grant Requests

  • Ignacio Conchos Elementary School – Phoenix, AZ: Vision services for a 7 yr old boy, referred to Nationwide. AFCCA Foundation for Children paid $74.99 for eye exam and glasses.
  • Washington High School – Phoenix, AZ: Vision services for a 18 yr old boy, referred to Nationwide. Due to student being homeless, he was unable to come up with the $5.00 that the parent would have paid, so the AFCCA Foundation for Children paid $79.99 for eye exam and glasses.
  • Glendale High School – Glendale, AZ: Vision services for a 17 yr old girl, referred to Nationwide. AFCCA Foundation for Children paid $54.99 for eye exam and glasses.

Thank you to all of our dedicated board members, donators, volunteers and especially our volunteer school nurse for making grant requests like the ones above possible

Working together through fundraisers and creating awareness, we can continue helping children in our communities.
